The wet end of the paper machine produces most of the heat and moist air leaks into the machine hall. Thus the wet end exhaust plays a key role as far as the machine hall air flow dimensioning is considered.
The dryer section air systems consist of many important components that affect paper quality, productivity and paper machine runnability. Therefore, the highest possible knowledge of – and experience in – paper drying theory and paper machine technology is essential. TM Systems possesses both.
It’s all about stability and contact. Dryer sections are often single felted in order to improve paper machine runnability at higher speeds. Case: Stora Enso’s Imatra mills at Kaukopää wanted to improve the machine hall ventilation around the PK6 paper machine.
The investment aimed to improve the machine hall ventilation, to even out the temperature differences and to increase the performance of heat recovery in the ventilation. The goal was also to create savings in energy usage by decreasing the steam usage in supply air heating.
