The wet end of the paper machine produces most of the heat and moist air leaks into the machine hall. Thus the wet end exhaust plays a key role as far as the machine hall air flow dimensioning is considered.
Dryer section air systems: Quality is in the air
The dryer section air systems consist of many important components that affect paper quality, productivity and paper machine runnability. Therefore, the highest possible knowledge of – and experience in – paper drying theory and paper machine technology is essential. TM Systems possesses both.
Runnability Components: Fewer breaks with Vacubox® web stabilizers
It’s all about stability and contact. Dryer sections are often single felted in order to improve paper machine runnability at higher speeds. The paper tends to lift off the dryer fabric mainly at the closing nips. This causes wrinkles and web breaks, as well as other problems. Our Vacubox® web stabilizers keep the paper in good contact with the fabric thus preventing web flutter and instability. [Read more…]

Mondi Syktyvkar HVAC: Less condensation, better working conditions via HVAC
Case: Mondi Syktyvkar, Russia. HVAC for Pulp Dryer Building.
Goals
To improve the machine room ventilation in the pulp dryer building and in the control room. To prevent condensation on the inner roof especially during cold winter months with temperatures lower than -35˚C.
Mondi Stambolijski Trim Handling: More efficiency needed, but no time for shut-down
Case: Mondi Stambolijski Bulgaria: Trim handling system for a winder.

Goals
The customer’s trim conveying system was not efficient enough. The existing system was ejector-based. The winder was not able to run at full speed and the ejector air was blown to the pulper causing the area to become overpressurised. Additionally, the energy consumption was too high. [Read more…]

”We see clear energy savings”, says Pasi Lampinen, Stora Enso Imatra mills
Case: Stora Enso’s Imatra mills at Kaukopää wanted to improve the machine hall ventilation around the PK6 paper machine.
Goals
The investment aimed to improve the machine hall ventilation, to even out the temperature differences and to increase the performance of heat recovery in the ventilation. The goal was also to create savings in energy usage by decreasing the steam usage in supply air heating.
