The wet end of the paper machine produces most of the heat and moist air leaks into the machine hall. Thus the wet end exhaust plays a key role as far as the machine hall air flow dimensioning is considered.
Heat recovery solutions: Lower energy consumption and higher productivity
TM Systems is very aware of the energy challenges and the pressure toward environment-friendly operations in different process industries. Therefore we have put extra effort to further develop energy saving solutions, including top of the line heat recovery systems. We deliver solutions that cut energy costs and enable more environmentally friendly production.

Ilim Group Bratsk Heat Recovery: Less energy loss in Siberian conditions
Goals
Many leaks and lost energy in the old systems, how could we improve them? What is the right solution to minimize the losses considering the weather conditions range from -45 °C to +35 °C? Heat recovery.
BillerudKorsnäs Skärblacka: PM9 Air system rebuild
Heat Recovery System
Case: BillerudKorsnäs, Skärblacka: PM9 air system rebuild.
Goals
The BillerudKorsnäs Skärblacka PM9 machine hall ventilation system needed updating. The amount of supply air was insufficient. The air balance and working conditions needed a new supply air system and a heat recovery system.
”We see clear energy savings”, says Pasi Lampinen, Stora Enso Imatra mills
Case: Stora Enso’s Imatra mills at Kaukopää wanted to improve the machine hall ventilation around the PK6 paper machine.
Goals
The investment aimed to improve the machine hall ventilation, to even out the temperature differences and to increase the performance of heat recovery in the ventilation. The goal was also to create savings in energy usage by decreasing the steam usage in supply air heating.
