Ilim Group Bratsk Heat Recovery: Less energy loss in Siberian conditions

24.04.2016 by Teija Laakso

puristin 2Goals

Many leaks and lost energy in the old systems, how could we improve them? What is the right solution to minimize the losses considering the weather conditions range from -45 °C to +35 °C? Heat recovery.

Solution

A full renovation of the pulp line from wood handling to bale handling. A supply of full scope ventilation as a turn-key delivery with MCC and DCS.

The machine hall ventilation system uses the heat recovered from the pulp drying line as its primary energy source. The heat recovered is more than 25 MW.

IMGP1259-2

How it works

The heat and humidity load is reduced using a properly functioning air system. Heat is recovered from the pulp drying line.

Benefits

A full delivery from one supplier.  TM Systems’ heat recovery solution resulted in lower energy consumption compared to competitors’. Trouble-free usability.

Result

Over 25 MW power recovered. Heat, dust and humidity decreased providing better working conditions.
