BillerudKorsnäs Skärblacka: PM9 Air system rebuild

30.03.2016 by Teija Laakso

Heat Recovery System

Case: BillerudKorsnäs, Skärblacka: PM9 air system rebuild.

Goals

The BillerudKorsnäs Skärblacka PM9 machine hall ventilation system needed updating. The amount of supply air was insufficient. The air balance and working conditions needed a new supply air system and a heat recovery system.

Solution

We provided additional supply air capacity and improved the heat recovery. Furthermore the wet end ventilation system was rebuilt.

Wet end ventilation.

How it works

Heat and humidity load is reduced by using more efficient air systems.

Timetable

The ventilation system was rebuilt in two separate projects in 2014-2015: First were machine hall supply air units rebuilt, and after that were the heat recovery system and exhaust air units rebuilt.

Results

  • Provided ideal working conditions for the personnel.
  • Low operating costs due to a modern and efficient heat recovery system.
  • Longer lifespan for the building due to efficient ventilation.
